Gary Bierfriend
Mr. Bierfriend is a leader in mortgage banking and real estate investment sectors known for crafting effective strategies to achieve business goals. Mr. Bierfriend brings to FWS a unique blend of business acumen, global team building, and organizational development capabilities. Among his notable accomplishments, he served as President of Mortgage IT where he helped the firm conduct a highly successful IPO.
Under his leadership, Mortgage IT grew to be the 10th largest residential wholesale lender in the US and exceeded peer industry growth for 14 consecutive quarters. During his tenure he led funded loan origination volume to approximately $30 billion annually, and participated in more than $225 million in multiple REIT offerings and $150 million in Trust Preferred Securities. The company was ultimately acquired by Deutsche Bank for $429 million. Mr. Bierfriend holds a JD from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and a BBA in Banking and Finance from Hofstra University. He is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bar Associations.
